The Republican Win in Purple Montana

As i predicted, the Republican win in Purple Montana seems to have been consigned to the memory hole-(see also the 2017 Omaha Mayoral race).

It is funny that those here who breathlessly analyze polls taken 2 years out are not dissecting the results of this race.

Might the outcome (in a purple state )be a sign that the people don't hate Trump as much as some hope they do?

Well, his margin of victory was less than Trump's. Still, it's like Trump said: He could shoot somebody in the middle of Fifth Avenue, and his supporters would stick with him.

Montana isn't particularly purple. According to Nate Silver, the results in KS-04 and MT-AL, along with polling in GA-06, are consistent with an environment in which control of the House is very much up for grabs, notwithstanding the Republicans' best gerrymandering efforts. --Bob

The Cook PVI measures how Democratic or Republican a District is compared to the nation as a whole. If a district has a PVI of R +10, then a generic Republican candidate in that district should get roughly 60% of the vote in a two person race. So far, Kansas-4 had a PVI of R +15, and MT-AL had a PVI of R +11. The Democratic candidate in each of those races lost by 7 and 6 points total. That's a swing of over 15 points in each election. If that happens across the board, then there won't be any Republican representatives left in states like California and New York.

For the record, the two remaining races, Georgia-6 has a PVI of R +8 and SC-5 has a PVI of R +9.

I'm disappointed in last night's election results, but the overall trends are positive. What's more, there is no sign that Donald Trump is going to right his ship and so anything to start winning over people again.

Here's the complete PVI: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cook_Part ... ting_Index

I can guarantee you that they did not gerrymander Congressional districts in Montana.

Don't despair, dems. You still have His Highness Jon Ossoff to hang all your hopes and dreams on.

I hear he wants to tear down Gulls Field

Gulls Field was abandoned many years ago when the Gulls moved to Arkansas and built their stadium in Little Flock. Once the park in Little Flock was finally completed, the Gulls moved to the Pacific Northwest, eventually settling in Olympia. They are currently building the world's first floating ballpark in an inlet of Puget Sound. In the meantime, they play home games at low tide in Mud Bay.

The Original Gulls Field in Atlanta was demolished by implosion to make way for a new state of the art stadium for the Atlanta Braves and Falcons. Unfortunately, there was a game taking place when the implosion was set off. Joe Mays suffered a head injury during that incident, and to this day he believes he is Pee Wee Herman.

The new state of the art stadium for the Braves and Falcons, named Ossoff Stadium, was constructed using 10 billion dollars of taxpayer money and was completed in 2014. It was immediately declared obsolete, and Sun Trust Park and Mercedes Benz Done were built in its place. It is currently being used as a self service laundromat.
