However, I didn't get the call. It wasn't until 2016 that everything worked out for me. As I reflect upon everything, I realize now the wait was worth it. WWTBAM is doing well in the ratings and should be around for awhile. Hang in there!

Do they always tell you in the happy card/email that you are selected for a particular theme week?

Does this kind of thing happen, or should I just assume it's a no go this time?

did you get a video interview after passing the test? If not, assume it's a no go.

the past few years, they've been rather quick with the email, generally under two weeks. check your spambox as well as they send to multiple recipients at the same time.

I did have a video interview. And I check my spam regularly. Nothing there.

Maybe they mistyped your email address or couldn't read it. They haven't taken this long in a long time.

The good thing is when they want you they call, so at least you can hope you have the correct phone number and they can read it.

I can't read my own writing, so I always typed my applications for the show.

That's exactly what happened! I got the call today. Taping 7/24. 7/25 is my backup date, so maybe we'll bump into each other.

I don't. But my wife and I love going to Vegas anyway. I'm a college professor so my summer schedule is flexible. And I'm hoping to at least win enough to cover the trip!

$5,000 is gettable. I was at a taping a couple of weeks ago and every contestant got to that first "safe" level. Good luck!

I passed today w/ video after. Not a huge turnout today, which was the last open call of the season I thi know. Everyone was lovely, as usual. Tough test. I did not think I passed.

Yep, just down the street from Bally's. Fortunately for me my +1 will be in town and gave me a yes right away. Now I just have to get outfits arranged, a haircut and my butt to the studio in two days. And try to study which is tough on such a time crunch. But I have been already as another friend got The Call sbout a week before me and I was going to be his +1. At this point, I'm trying to be rested and mainly focusing on good gameplay and strategy and hoping I get a stack that suits me! Dare to dream, right?

Just thought I'd give an update...I was at the taping on Tuesday/Wednesday (7/25-26). I asked about the taping schedule and they told me they had already taped about 60-70 shows out of 170. They started taping on July 5th. They give the test before the tapings. I know that no one passed the test on the 25th. I took the test (for fun) and passed it on the 26th. Six passed, four men (including me) and two women. They announce who passed during the shows, probably to make sure everyone stays during the long (four shows in the first session) tape day. Surprisingly, one of the passers had left...her friend that the studio was too cold.
They also are doing a Celebrity week for charity. Wayne Newton (the USO) was there and taped his segment. No one seemed to know if they were doing any themed shows. Oh, and it was Chris Harrison's birthday yesterday.

they are doing several theme weeks this year, i'm surprised they didn't happen to know that or mention it.

Did you tell them in advance that you weren't eligible and they were okay with you taking the test anyway, or did you decline after they called your name, or did you go through the audition process anyway to see how far you could go before you were detected? The people who work there seem to have very little awareness of the show's history.

they obviously weren't even aware of the upcoming theme weeks announced on their own audition site...
