Could be worse. The last Philly audition was inside a casino.

When I worked at the Casino Queen, The Apprentice held an audition there. I know there was at least 1,000 people there because they were lined up and down the hallway when I came to work. Deal Or No Deal also held one. I had a friend of mine switched days off with me so I could attend. The day before the audition, another friend of mine show me a rule on their website that casino employees were ineligible to try out. Six months later, they removed the rule.

Thanks for nothing.

TPTB escaped Tropical Storm Cindy (what an unfortunate name), but now have to deal with record heat.

I geeked out at the reporting today about all the canceled flights at Sky Harbor today, because it was too hot for some planes to safely fly. Never would have thought about air density relative to air travel.

It's not so much the flying as the takeoff. Need extra runway space that just isn't there at Sky Harbor.

I flew in and out of Sky Harbor many times for work a while back. Nearly every flight landing there had some level of turbulence. I assumed it was either because of the heat or the change from one temperature front to another. One time, after the biggest drop I had ever experienced, the pilot got a few nervous laughs when he announced, "Well, ladies and gentlemen, we've just dropped into Sky Harbor Airport..."

Was unable to make it for various reasons. I might try a Vegas trip. We'll see.
