The Atlanta Fed’s widely followed GDPNow tracker, which aggregates model forecasts for several subcomponents of GDP like exports and homebuilding, fell to an all-time low of 0.2% for the first quarter.

Economists surveyed by Bloomberg are more optimistic, forecasting that gross domestic product increased at an annual rate of 1%.

In a post on Thursday, the Atlanta Fed said its model fell from 0.5% after Wednesday’s annual retail trade revision dimmed the outlook for consumer spending in the first quarter. Spending is the biggest contributor to economic growth.

Probably. But since he's claimed the good economic news he'd look like more of a clown.

Obama inherited an economy in freefall. Trump inherited an economy that was inching along not as fast as people would like and that is now chugging to a halt.

I would blame the democrats like bobbarino, who have done everything they possibly can to prevent sabotage Trump, without regard to how it hurts the country.

If I thought that Donny had made a single proposal so far that was good for the country, I wouldn't oppose it, but so far his record appears well nigh perfect in that respect. --Bob

You can't blame him; he thought the job would be easier:
I loved my previous life. I had so many things going. This is more work than in my previous life. I thought it would be easier. You’re really into your own little cocoon, because you have such massive protection that you really can’t go anywhere. I like to drive. I can’t drive any more.

I have to give him credit for one thing. He has the ability in every single interview he gives to come off as a complete, blathering idiot.

On his meeting with Chinese President Xi:
He certainly doesn’t want to see turmoil and death. He doesn’t want to see it. He’s a good man. He’s a very good man and I got to know him very well ... We’ll see how it all works out. I know he would like to be able to do something. Perhaps it’s possible that he can’t. But I think he’d like to be able to do something.
In the same interview, he claimed that first the Mexicans and then the Canadians begged him to negotiate rather than pull out of NAFTA. If I had to guess, I'd guess that every world leader this side of Kim Jong Un is salivating at the prospect of negotiating with Trump.
