Writer best known for his best selling romance, The Bridges of Madison County, which he supposedly wrote in 11 days. The book was largely derided by critics but was made into an excellent movie with Meryl Streep and Clint Eastwood (who directed). More recently, it's also been made into a Broadway musical.
