Thank you my sister

long as I'm here using her computer:

The Fat Lady Clothes Co, Silhouettes (there's probably more than one such, but this is the one whose clothes I've been buying) makes these lovely linen skirts, which with their lovely linen jackets make quite nice suits. And without the jackets, still quite nice skirts. Except that for reasons known only to the people who run the co (probably the same people who stopped their making two of my favorite garments of theirs, a cotton gauze one-color with checkerboard pattern weave "big shirt", & a lovely printed cotton gauze shirtdress [which I did my last BAM audition in, but you can't blame the dress] probably because they have prohibitive amounts of tailoring required, which is what makes them look so nice) the otherwise nice linen skirts have a reinforced front seam, but a non-reinforced seam in back. So after repeated getting in & out of cars (forget any bike riding in this one!), the seam splits up the back, starting at the six-inch "notch" which is an otherwise nice fashion detail (we fat ladies can only afford racy hem notches where they show only leg, not bundles of fat).

This may just be part of a plot to get you to buy a new $40.00 skirt every 2 months, but it didn't work on me.

My sister offerred to reinforce the back seams for me. If I did it, by the time I got the semi-functional sewing machine fired up, I could have already done it by hand, which is what I would have done but its so much work. My sister just reinforced another one for me, hence this thank you. These days, I get them to her before I try to wear them at all. She does a way more professional job than I would. And perhaps than the company would; maybe they don't reinforce it because they think people would rather have their skirts come apart up the back than to sit on lumpy reinforced seams? Well, my sister's reinforced seams have no lumps.

Pretty funny - men probably have no clue what "lumpy seams" mean and I know exactly what you mean.

Hooray for your sister.

I just don't buy those brands anymore.

I know what causes it: Sewing thread that shrinks.
