The Deep State/CIA Cabals and Rogue Generals-I Get Confused
With people like Bill Kristol (an anti-Trump Republican) hoping for the triumph of the Deep State and "X" number of leftists hoping for a military coups.
Are secret CIA cabals and plotting generals going to be the heroes of the next series of Holylwood movies and is the lone guy who is trying to stop them going to be the bad guy?
I think it is really cute when people like Sarah Silverman (who called for a coup) and lefty professors just automatically assume that the military would be on their side in any coups/civil war situation.
Per the Russians-Ted Kennedy had the Kremlin on speed-dial in the early 80's trying to figure out a way to beat Reagan.
In the light of recent events-Where are we all on that now? Was that a good thing or a bad thing? As I said I get confused.

If there's a coup, it will be by the CIA and won't be armed. It's already been leaked that Trump's daily security briefings are limited to a page or less versus the six to twelve pages for Obama. If Trump wants to find out who's been leaking the information, he could start by grilling all his buddies at Mar-a-Lago, who got an up close and personal look at supposedly sensitive diplomatic discussions (and the nuclear football as well).

I have said this before, but I find it very hard to take the newfound hawkishness of the left on Russia seriously.
Obama, midway through his 8 years, snarkily dismissed even the idea of Russia as a geopolitical foe in the most snarky, 15 YO mean girl fashion possible-Presumably, to the wild cheers of his voting base-most of whom are now newfound hawks on Russia.
As a reminder-he said to Romney in a debate when Romney raised the idea of Russia as geopolitical foe-"“You said Russia. And the 1980s are now calling to ask for their foreign policy back. "
This is not ancient history-it is only 4 years ago.

So that is the only thing that woke you up to Russia as a possible geo-political foe? This entire thing shows the warts on the right and the left. The anti Trump right by actively rooting for collosal failure of the administration, the alt-right for trying to create that failure, the so-called mainstream left for cowering under their desks in disbelief more than 3 months after the election and the lunatic fringe calling for overthrow of the government.

Here's the thing. Until 2019, it's going to take Republican office holders to do the investigating necessary to find out just how deeply Donny is caught in Putin's pocket. And they probably won't insist on it unless their voters do. So although I will continue to clang the alarm bells, I don't really expect much to happen until Republican and independent voters start insisting that their Representatives and Senators execute their oversight responsibilities. If the investigations find what I expect, the result will be a quick promotion for Vice President Pence, so I really think it's in your political interest as well as being your patriotic duty. --Bob
