Mexico ready to retaliate by hurting American corn farmers

MEXICO CITY (CNNMoney) -- Mexico is ready to hit the U.S. where it hurts: Corn.
Mexico is one of the top buyers of American corn in the world today. And Mexican senator Armando Rios Piter, who leads a congressional committee on foreign relations, says he will introduce a bill this week where Mexico will buy corn from Brazil and Argentina instead of the United States.
It's one of the first signs of potential concrete action from Mexico in response to President Trump's threats against the country.

Speaking as a corn farmer-this is a bad thing, why?
The heavily subsidized, environmental disaster that is corn farming deserves some hits. Drive a few miles through corn country this time of year and see the eroded dirt that is filling the ditches.
I have said this before, but I have little respect for most of my compatriots.

I agree with Spock. And, with more efficient and less labor intensive Bio-fuel options, this could be a good time to break away from Giant Agra. With all the genetic engineering, I fear corn will find itself in the same shaky position bananas find themselves in today.
