What goes through their minds?

I am an Arkansas Razorback fan. So I watched the Belk Bowl last night. I am not even going to talk about the game. I am going to try and forget about the game.
2 of the players, who were fan favorites until last night, totally smeared their own public reputations by their own actions.

Jeremy Sprinkle is rated one of the best tight ends in College Football. He was projected to be a second round, possibly first round pick in the draft. So what does he do before his final college game? He shoplifts from the department store that sponsored the bowl. After they gave him a $450 gift card. Not only did he ruin his own reputation, he probably lost thousands, if not millions, of dollars on potential earnings just to get those things he shoplifted. What was he thinking?

Drew Morgan probably had a lot less of a chance to go pro, but he was a favorite of mine until last night. He is undersized but fought his way into the starting lineup and has excelled as a wide receiver. He got kicked out of the game late in the 4th quarter. The TV announcers didn't say why. They may have known and just decided not to air it. What did he do? He spit in the face of an opposing player.

I was asking what goes through their minds, but I guess the correct question would be 'Why are they so stupid?'

Late in the season, Arkansas managed to turn choking into an art form.

At the Belk Bowl, they led 24-0 at halftime and received the second half kickoff. They proceeded to turn the ball over four times in the second half and give up 35 points en route to a 35-24 loss, the biggest comeback in Virginia Tech history. In their previous game, they led a woeful Missouri team 24-7 at halftime and lost that game 28-24.

I'm at a loss to explain how you could find even $450 worth of stuff you'd want from Belk, let alone the extra $260 he shoplifted.

I never watch sports on TV except when they happen to be on in a bar or restaurant I'm in.

Virginia Tech must have had one hell of a halftime talk. I'd love to have heard Arkansas's.
