Being the first on your block to get married has its drawbacks. BD's sole exposure to wedding ceremonies was over ten years ago at my niece's wedding. She hasn't a clue what she wants or expects. FSIL isn't any better. They need to come up with something for us to discuss with the rabbi on Saturday.
There has been some talk over doing the glass-breaking shtick (should be easy with army boots), but nothing definite and nothing known beyond that. Current plans are to ask the rabbi what his typical ceremony is for mixed marriages and work from there. Stay tuned.
Got a card from one of my distant (as in far) cousins, who plans on coming, much to our surprise. Need to send her our hotel info. Made us think of others who may surprise us. There aren't many who wouldn't plan on staying with other relatives in the area, but there are a couple. Also have to check if FSIL has sent the info to his buddies and relatives for whom we don't know the address but he does.
