La La Land (massive spoilers, and language)

Spoiler
I liked this movie a lot for the first 95% of the story. I had accepted that Sebastian and Mia were not together five years later in the after-story, and would have been fine if they had just seen each other in the club and given each other that "thanks for pushing me to reach my dream" look, and moved on.

But that rewind thing made me think they were going to end up together. And then they didn't. And I felt deceived, then angry, then like there is something wrong with me, that every review I read said you walk out floating on air.

Bullshit.

Also the music was good but not great, which I could have forgiven if there had not been fuckery.

A couple of my bridge buddies are really looking forward to this. I won't hit them with the spoilers. I think they'll like it just because it's a musical.

I agree with you about the music. But I'm curious: If you had realized as it was happening that the reverie was about what might have been rather than what was, would that have affected your reaction?
