Two very different tunes for today's entries:
18. PRETTY BALLERINA-THE LEFT BANKE (1967)
Album: Walk Away Renee/Pretty Ballerina
Much better known for their previous hit, "Walk Away Renee", although this WAS a Top 15 hit. And while I do love "Renee..", I love this
one even more. That incredibly haunting piano line, string quartet, and oboe (!) solo...this song is offbeat and a thing of beauty.
17. BODHISATTVA-STEELY DAN (1973)
Album: Countdown To Ecstacy
This tune was a favorite of ours in college days. A swing beat under a rock feel, but with exotic keyboard sounds, jazz flourishes
and unusual harmonies, this one really cooks. Above all, the guitar work, as Denny Diaz and Jeff "Skunk" Baxter trade some pretty
impressive solos.

This is awesome, where you take mega stars and include non-#1 but really awesome songs. I think you said you would be doing that at the beginning.
Thanks especially for Bodhisattva.

Love The Dan song. But I admit I have never heard Pretty Ballerina before. It's quite nice.
