This reminds me of a sort of grammar question.

Shouldn't you say "shave off their beards" instead of "shave their beards"?
Shave their beards just seems incomplete to me.

It seems similar to another phrase that always makes me wonder: "graduate college" instead of "graduate from college".

Am I just loopy on this?
