The Boney 500: Songs 26 and 25

The first of our two songs today actually comes from today's album! A mere coincidence, I assure you..
As for the second tune for today, apparently Sir Elton enjoyed putting a song on yesterday's countdown so much that he stuck around today for an encore...
26. YOU CAN CLOSE YOUR EYES-JAMES TAYLOR (1971)
Album: Mud Slide Slim and the Blue Horizon
A quiet number that is one of his loveliest. Not much more than JT, his guitar, and a couple of harmony vocals. It is more than enough.
An end of the evening, 2am nightcap of a song. I usually DO close my eyes when I listen, and just let it wash over me.
25. GOODBYE YELLOW BRICK ROAD-ELTON JOHN (1973)
Album: Goodbye Yellow Brick Road
A devastatingly gorgeous song, it's my favorite by Elton in a long list of Elton songs I like. I couldn't get enough of this tune back
in the day, and it still sounds darn good to me. Elton's vocal here is top notch.
