Thanks for the kind thoughts, everyone, including BiT.
Nowadays the most memorable thing about my birthday is that we get to have a free buffet at the Golden Corral, a restaurant that's normally beyond our budget.
A side note, before I met Mrs. SSS, I met one of my earlier girlfriends at Western Sizzler, when they had their half'-price dinner day with all meals half price. Needless to say, the place was packed and this girl about my age asked if she could sit at the table with me. We got to talking and realized we shared an interest in fine steaks and bargains and wound up dating for a few months.
