Ya had to know this was coming at some point...

17. THE BEATLES (aka The White Album)-THE BEATLES (1968)

Yeah, let's be honest, there's some crap on this album....and I'm not just talkin' "Revolution 9". Still there's more than enough
gold here to offset the occasional dud. I'll put up with "Wild Honey Pie" and "Rocky Raccoon" any day in order to hear "Dear Prudence", "While
My Guitar Gently Weeps", and "I Will" on the same disc. No decent You Tube vid available, so click below for an audio link. Hit the arrow
to the left of the first song and it should play in sequence, although for some reason "Goodnight" is placed in the middle of "Side 3" instead
of being the last song on the entire album, where it's supposed to be.

Related to this album...

Chris Berman's baseball player nicknames jumped the shark many years ago and rightly so. However, one did stand out and it still makes me laugh:

Rich "turn me on" Gedman

A friend of mine who knows far more about the Beatles than I maintains that if the Four hadn't pushed to create the double album to get out of their contractual obligation, this would have been the Beatles' masterpiece by a mile and perhaps the greatest album by anyone ever. Not only would the chaff have been separated from the wheat, but the songs that remained would have had more attention paid to them. George Martin would have been able to more fully refine songs like "Back in the USSR" and there would have been almost no filler. I can't say that he's wrong.

"I Will" was my favorite song for a while. Then I met my ex and thought it was about him. Turns out it wasn't.
