The Boney 500: Album #18

18. RIDES AGAIN-THE JAMES GANG (1970)

A vastly underrated album in my opinion. Side 1 should be required listening for anyone who professes a love for rock, especially
of the Midwestern meat and potatoes variety. Side 2 is more laid back, starting with the more restrained rocker, "Tend My Garden",
continuing with some country influenced numbers in the middle, and wrapping up with the pensive, string-drenched "Ashes The Rain
and I". With all of his work as a solo artist and as a member of the Eagles, for me this album is Joe Walsh's finest moment. Cool
thing here...this link is for the restored version, which includes the unedited version of "The Bomber" (a short passage from "Bolero"
was removed from the original instrumental section in the middle).
