Suitguy is not bitter.
feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive
The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

I could take 19 of the little twerps. I've been teaching 8th grade for years, and 5-year olds grow up into . . .
Bring 'em on!
Bring 'em on!

I took care of 17 of them. Funny thing, I had a fight with a bunch of four year olds just last week. I was able to drop kick a couple of them out the window. Nothing like a little defenestration to show them who's the boss. I think the added weight made the difference with the five year olds.
I believe in the usefulness of useless information.

5 year olds make great weapons. Legs aren't too thick to keep you from getting a good grip, weight is just right to get a full swing with a little momentum and they are still malleable enough that they don't break on the first blow...
