The Boney 500: Album #41

#1 Post by T_Bone0806 » Fri Oct 28, 2016 9:32 am

Last album for this week. Yesterday's entry was by Neil Young. Today Neil is back, and he's brought some (occasional) friends with him:

41. DEJA VU-CROSBY STILLS NASH AND YOUNG (1970)

The debut album by CSN gets more attention, but this one, when Neil Young officially joined the trio, always had the
slight edge in my affections. The opening track, features some outstanding harmonies and segues from an acoustic workout
into a nice, funky rock groove. We've got a nice mix of rock ("Woodstock", for instance) with a couple of sweet Graham
Nash compositions ("Teach Your Children", "Our House")..and of course, the unique Mr. Young adds an additional
flavor to the proceedings ("Helpless", "Country Girl"). An interesting listen throughout.
