86. BABY I NEED YOUR LOVING-THE FOUR TOPS (1964)
Album: Four Tops

Johnny Rivers actually had a bigger chart hit with his version of the song, and he did do a fine job with it, but nobody is
going to outdo Levi Stubbs' magnificent vocal on the Tops' first Top 20 single. Especially when you have the mighty Funk
Brothers, the Motown house band, backing them up. Another Motown classic.




85. HARMONY-ELTON JOHN (1973)
Album: Goodbye Yellow Brick Road

A lovely but short song that closes Sir Elton's classic double album. Living up to its title, there are some sweet background
vocals that bear more than a passing resemblance to Brian Wilson's Beach Boys. Always been a favorite Elton tune for me.
