Of all the bizarre things Donald Trump has done during this campaign, his harping on the issue of rigged elections makes the least sense to me. The other dumb things he's done, like going off on Miss Universe or the Khans or the Billy Bush tape were, at least, reactions to points others brought up initially. He brought this entire rigged election theme up himself and kept harping on it and then, when Chris Wallace gave him an opportunity to put the entire issue to rest once and for all, instead replied with the snottiest answer I can imagine, "I'll keep you in suspense."

For about 2/3 of the debate Trump actually did a good job of bringing up and defending his points. I disagree with him on most of them but at least he made his arguments (as did Hillary). But then he shoots himself in the foot with these ridiculous comments that are going to undo whatever good he might have done the rest of the debate:

"Bad hombres."

"Such a nasty woman"

"I'll keep you in suspense"

"No, you're the puppet"

Two other observations:

1) I was really surprised at how good a job Chris Wallace did. I was honestly expecting a Sean Hannity/Bill O'Reilly style of moderation but he was, in my view, tough on both candidates but fair.

2) Trump keeps claiming about whether Hillary has the stamina for the job, but three times in a row he has gotten noticeably weaker as the debate wore on. He can keep focus for a while, then he loses it and gives into whatever provocation that comes up, even tangling with Chris Wallace on a couple of occasions.

Three final words: President Hillary Clinton

A good percentage of the American people have completely lost faith in the FBI and the Justice Department. These are two entities that are supposed to be completely impartial. They have been shown to be politicized. Just to protect her. That is her responsibility.

We have all seen how easily her party's and her campaign's private emails have been hacked and published. She has taken responsibility for the decision she made to do her communications on a private unsecured server to avoid public scrutiny. As Secretary of State, she was responsible for the security of the most important information and secrets of our country.

She says there is no evidence this information was hacked. How would she know? It is almost a certainty that some other entity, or entities, already have all the information that she tried to hide from the American public and from Congress. It might be Russia, or ISIS, or North Korea, or wikileaks. Who knows? I think it's ominous that there have been no leaks of what was on her server by now. She better think long and hard about what might have been on that server. Because if there is anything that can be used to compromise our country, her administration or her personally, it is very possible it is being held to be used at the right time. That is just speculation, but it is one big risk we take by electing her.

But what choice is there? Trump?

I can't vote for either of them.

It's really fairly simple: Trump is Trump and Trump is a winner, not a loser. The writing is on the wall, the Trump campaign is going backwards. Trump is not an idiot, even a Trump will recognize on some level that the Trump is losing. But a Trump can't lose, therefore the election must be rigged.

Or maybe he's just batshit crazy.
