Duel 4/18 - spoilers

I enjoyed tonight's show.
The male champ was a good contestant with solo plays on multiple questions. The match to end the night was well-played reaching the max pot. One potential contestant not picked was a 48-year-old child actor (recognizable instantly by me) named Paris Themmen. The night ended with the winner ready to face a $50,000 bonus question and the host revealing the question would be revealed next week.
I could hear however many low millions that watch the show cussing after that moment.

Darn, I keep missing Duel. But at least I have a good excuse. I went out to see Nick Lowe tonight, so I have no regrets.

I'll grumble about that without even seeing it.
And I had to look up Paris Themmen.
From
Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Paris Themmen (born June 25, 1959 in Boston, Massachusetts) is an actor who played Mike Teavee in the 1971 film Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. He has also been on Star Trek: Voyager (Season 6, Episode 13: "Virtuoso") in 2000.

They're fast on Wikipedia!

Given the numerous poor duels on the show so far the last one was superb by comparison. The music guy surprised me.
But in most cases when a cast member wins their first duel they should not walk but run out of the studio with whatever they managed to win as the odds of winning a second duel, much less five, are perhaps only slightly better than winning the lottery based on what I have seen so far.
With no safe level of winnings on this game like the 25K level of WWTBAM it seems unlikely anyone would ever try to win 5 duels unless they come in with the mindset that the money is unimportant right from the start and can then stick to it. About the only time it would seem likely is if someone won 4 quick duels for a low total dollar value. And even then these cast members are cashing out at 10-20K values so the odds seem slim at best.
There are certainly times I would need to use 4 chips on the show given all the Gastonia Q's but no where near as often as some of these cast members do and on some of the goofiest answers. The US shot down Sputnik recently? Gimme a break!
