Singing lyrics quite different than the standard pop/rock fare in his surly "get off my lawn you kids" voice, Zevon really
scores with me on this. His other albums have songs here and there that I like, but none of them come close to this one.
"Werewolves Of London", his best known song, is here, but I especially like the pretty "Accidentally Like A Martyr" and the
title track, which is undoubtedly the happiest sounding song about a psychopathic murderer ever recorded.

Love this album! Nighttime in the Switching Yard is a "turn it up" fave.
Zevon's self-titled debut album is pretty strong, too. It provided Linda Ronstadt with plenty of material.

Agreed, but personally, I much preferred the lovely Linda's versions to those of the composer's.

Well, I would've loved to get on her lawn back then, but restraining orders are such a messy thing...
