Joyce only wrote one of these.

Tough one. Africa is large, so the distance between South Africa and Israel is probably greater than from Germany to Israel. The 50:50 doesn't help. I probably would have gone with C just because Europe is smaller than Africa.

This amazes me. I looked it up to see if some article would shed some light. I agree wholeheartedly with this: "The book's language is thick with multilingual puns and brazenly defies grammatical conventions." The translator goes on to say: "Dai ventures that Chinese readers may appreciate Joyce's rumination on the cyclical nature of history, the relationships between his male and female characters, and the sheer challenge of interpreting his prose."

I love James Joyce, even though I didn't get to him until I was a senior in college. My Senior Seminar concerned itself with only two authors, Joyce and D.H. Lawrence, probably because they were contemporaries. I took it the first year it was offered, and the following year the department dropped Joyce because we liked Lawrence better. Also, Lawrence spent considerable time hanging around in the Taos area, just down the river a bit. OK, a lot.
