If Looks Could Kill (Survivor Spoiler)

In one of the best blind-side vote-offs, Ozzie was voted off Survivor last night. What was wicked about his vote off, was that he had the immunity idol and what he thought was the trust of his "Favorite" teammates. However, Parvati decided to switch alliances and go with the Fans to vote Ozzie out. The look he gave the others as he left was priceless and you could see him mouthing a few choice epithets as Jeff snuffed his torch. Come on, Ozzie! This is how the game is played. You were, unquestionably, the chief threat at that point and you had to figure that you had a large target on your back despite your alliance. So, that's the second time the immunity idol gets washed away although this cannot compete with James' enormous blunder last season when he had two of them in his possession when he was voted off.
I read someplace that there is supposed to be an all-female final this year but it remains to be seen as to which ones they will be.

I liked it. Ozzie was stunned as were others. I found it funny that during the show Ozzie made a comment to James along the line of "Jason just got outwitted". Wonder if Ozzie will remember that outwitted is part of the game and he should respect that. Nah, don't think he will.
Also James said something about "Jason doing one of the dumbest things ever on Survivor". No, James, that was you sitting with two idols and not playing either one of them.
For those not watching. The immunity challenge was down to 2, and Jason got everyone to promise (some had their fingers crossed when they promised) not to vote him off. By "giving" up treats---donuts, cookies, milk were provided for all contestants. Pretty much it was not a smart move because "most" were still gonna vote Jason off, buy Pavoratti put the knife in Ozzie. And I say good for her. What Ozzie was gonna protect her all the way? I think not.

And Cirie wins for the best strategist.
I told Husband1111 that Ozzy was going to go. He clearly was not thinking. But I agree, have 2 I. idols and not playing either one is worse that not playing one, although the effect is the same.

I think this was the key point that made it happen, not Parvati. Without the push from Cirie it might not have happened at all as Parvati appeared to still be vacillating, at least based on what we saw. Cirie has been solid in her strategic play from the start. The question is whether others recognize it and will boot her before the end, or in the unlikely event she does make it to the end will the jury see her strong play and consider voting for her.
Ozzie was at least worried going into tribal council while as I recall James never really considered playing his idols and by having two James was in a much better position to be able to play his at the point he went out with less risk involved in hanging on to them.
At this point I would probably give Cirie my vote if she were in the final group. I am not yet sure she is going to get there.

James actually said that he thought he, James, was the dumbest Survivor ever until the play by Jason. And if Jason had been voted off it certainly would have been a poor play. As bad as James? Probably not but debatable I suppose. But the fact that Jason wasn't voted out had little to do with Jason himself and more because of the strategy by Cirie and, at least to me, to a lesser degree Parvati. If Jason had made the decision to dump immunity knowing in advance that a play was underway to try to vote out Ozzie that would be a different story. But that did not appear to be the case. Jason still has a big target on his chest. This was only a reprieve.
Of course all girl alliances seem to have rarely worked on Survivor in the past.
And poor Amanda, she just kind of tagged along last season even though she made final three, and she seems to be doing much the same this season. Just doesn't seem to be much of a game player and her survival now will depend a lot on how she handles the "coup d'etat".

I must add that I was impressed with Parvati (and Jason too for that matter) for staying on that stump with their hand raised for SIX PLUS FRELLIN' HOURS!!!
No way, no how could I or would I do that. Heck my arm hurts after 6 minutes...

I watched Survivor with Jason last night at a local watering hole and he was truly embarrassed by how stupid he looked, not just this week, but last week too with the fake idol. You wouldn't believe how innocent and trusting this kid is!
Background note: When Jeff goes to tally the votes, he disappears for 15-30 minutes to rearrange how the votes are pulled from the jar to enhance the drama. Ozzie was openly smirking at Jason the whole time. Jason had trouble controlling himself, but he wasn't sure if the coup d etat had really taken place.
I agree if looks could kill. I just loved watching Eliza's eyes roll when they were pulling Ozzie's name out of the jar.
Jason's been great at keeping secrets around school. If he doesn't win immunity, the gals will pick off the guys one by one! Sirie is an awesome snake, isn't she?

I knew he rearranged them--otherwise, what was there to go "tally"?--but it takes that long to do it? Does he hold a meeting with the producers to discuss the various tension-building options?

Well, tell him I am enjoying the season. We all know that the editing has a lot to do with the perceptionof the players.
And he outlasted Ozzie, so he can hold his head high!

All Jason said was Jeff disappears and waits a long time to come back. Probably to arrange the dramatic music, eh?
I'll tell J that you're enjoying the season. I think he's an amazing athlete. He's just gotta keep winning the challenges. You should see him with the kids. He's got a great personality with middle schoolers and you know what a tough audience they can be.

I always suspected this. It just seemed a little too coincidental that the names were drawn the way they were.
And, while I do agree that Cirie is the strategist, if Parvati had not switched alliances and decided to go against Ozzy, Cirie's strategy would have been all for naught. So, IMO, Parvati was the linch-pin to Ozzy's downfall.

A couple of episodes back the women on the Fav team were already talking about dumping the guys so it was not a new idea. And Parvati jumping over was certainly critical to the plans success since it was one vote either way. But I suspect Cirie played a big role in keeping Parvati on board and making it happen. But just a guess.
Will be interesting to see how James deals with the revolt. At times he tends to run his mouth when frustrated/annoyed and would obviously be another target of the "girl power" alliance
