One of the most well known and one of the most obscure entries are today's song reveals..
156. WALKING ON SUNSHINE-KATRINA & THE WAVES (1985)
Album: Katrina And The Waves
At one time I had heard or read somewhere that Kimberley Rew wrote this song on a miserable rainy day while sick
with a fever. However, in researching for this intro, I found no corraboration of this, so maybe it's a load of
bull. Either way it's an undeniable mood brightener with its "sunny" vocal and rock solid beat.
155. FACE THE CROWD-DEMIAN (1970)
Album: Demian
The father of a friend of mine brought home a bunch of records that a radio station was throwing out. My friend told us
we had to hear this song. I wound up playing it in several bands. A nifty little rocker by a group that evolved
from the late 60's one hit wonder Bubble Puppy ("Hot Smoke & Sassafrass"). My 13 year-old self thought that the guitar
switching from one speaker to the other was pretty nifty.
