Of note: 2015 TOC champion Alex Jacob is his Plus One. 70 people were at his audition. 11 passed the test, and 4 were asked on to the video audition.

Kyle taped immediately before Andrew Oreskovich, who also had a (less accomplished) Jeopardy! champion in the audience as his Plus One. I hope Kyle did well. They keep the next player sequestered out of earshot of the stage. --Bob

Yep, that was me (Hey, Bob!).
I'm in a very small market. Local press has been particularly interested. That being said, just because things are in quotes, doesn't necessarily mean it was a quote. The 70/11/4 thing was an estimate. Particularly the 70...I'd feel much safer saying 50-70. Fairly certain about the 11, although one guy I believe had been invited in for a short interview, maybe had passed the test previously, or had skyped, or something?
Anyway, it was a great time, can't wait for the airing. Alex was great to meet in person, and very grateful he took the time to be a part of the experience. It was certainly nice to finally get to live the dream.

Hey Kyle! Great meeting you, hope you had fun out there. Let us know when you have an air date Hope they get the whole St. Louis market issue resolved in time; I remember you mentioning that in the green room.

Are we barred from any other shows for one year? The Rules state:
Unless the new program has similar language, I don't see anything explicitly prohibiting participation *after* filming Millionaire. As long as you were eligible when you filmed/qualified, I'd argue that this doesn't disallow you starting a new application process. Thoughts?Any Potential Contestant (as defined below) who has appeared on any television game show exhibited on broadcast television that (i) had its first original broadcast within one (1) year prior to the date of the qualifying phone call (see Rule 3(E), below) or (ii) is intended to have its first original broadcast within one (1) year following the qualifying phone call, is not eligible (subject to Rule 2(F) below). In addition, any Potential Contestant subject to an exclusivity or other restriction to participating in the Program is not eligible.

I *think* most shows exclude people who have been on something in the previous year. I'd obviously double check, if something came along, but I wasn't worried so much about Millionaire saying we couldn't be on something afterwards...I thought Show #2 would say no for a year, after we did Millionaire.
And thanks, hope you enjoyed it too!

There are no laws regarding this, so each show if free to do as they please.
However, most shows do have some sort of rule about it. Pyramid has a one year rule, but I don't know if that is air date to air date; or air date to be allowed to apply.
As for Millionaire, they have a one year rule from airdate of a BROADCAST NETWORK prime time game show to being contacted by Millionaire for an appearance on Millionaire. So if you have an airdate of any game show on NBC, CBS, ABC or CW primetime show of September 10, 2016, Millionaire will not contact you to be on their show until after September 10, 2017 (which yeah is after they're done filming a season).
Millionaire does NOT have a rule against you going on another show AFTER Millionaire; I've heard Jeopardy does have this rule but I don't have confirmation on that.
Jeopardy's application rule used to be much different, and pretty bad when you looked at a possible timeline. I'm not sure what their current rule is, but they do have something. I am in the audition lottery for Raleigh this year, so if I get chosen for that, I guess I'll learn more of their rule due to my Millionaire appearance.
What Jeopardy used to do is you were not allowed to take the January test if you had appeared on any game show in the previous year, so this is what the possible timeline could be when this rule was in effect:
Appear on game show in January of 2013
Not eligible to take test until January of 2015
Win random drawing to get an audition in summer of 2015 (usually)
Receive "THE CALL" in December of 2016 (yeah, could happen)
Film in January of 2017
Jeopardy appearance is March of 2017
yup, FOUR YEARS between shows.
In 2014, I pointed this out on J-board, and we do know some people from the show lurk on there. Shortly after my post the rule changed. I'm not saying I had anything to do with that...but maybe?
