What I love about here

#1 Post by christie1111 » Sun Aug 21, 2016 6:33 pm

Is that I can say stuff here that I can not say on EFB.

This bothering more than I thought it would. My sister-in-law passed away this week. We knew this was going to happen. Her daughter moved out 3 months ago to be with her since it was clearly going to happen. 3-4 boughts of oral cancer from heavy smoking/drinking. Teeth long ago removed. Last surgery removed her vocal chords. Niece is an ICU nurse so she helped with her care.

Maybe I why am feeling especially bad is that I was her roommate and introduced my brother and Marjie. We had our moments, not all good ones, but the fact hat she is a contemporary is really upsetting.

Yeah, this one is tough.

Change is hard, even when we know it's coming.

I know what you mean about folks dying when they are our age and younger. When we were kids, people died at 65 and now it's 85, and anything earlier seems odd.

Think of nice things to do for your family members and maybe that will help you get through this.

Blessings.

Donna, I'm so sorry. I remember your telling us of your fear that this might happen. I send hugs to your entire extended family.

I'm very sorry for your loss.

I've been lucky so far in that my contemporaries (both good friends and family) all are still alive and reasonably healthy, so I'm not sure how I'll respond when the losses from my cohort finally begin. But I've gotta believe it'll be different from the feeling of loss when the death occurs in an older generation. --Bob
