Interesting call at work

#1 Post by elwoodblues » Thu Aug 18, 2016 5:02 pm

This morning the person who relieves me was running late, and he wanted to call me but he is new and did not know the number. So he called another building employee and asked him to call me. This guy's name is Jesus (Spanish pronunciation), and when he called the work cellphone it announced, "Call from...Jesus (English pronunciation)."

I thought my time had come.

A friend of mine had a funny story based on the same pronunciation error. When her son was in kindergarten, his babysitter (who I think was from France, possibly an au pair) was helping him with valentines for his classmates, asking him questions about each one so she could write a little personal message. When she got to Jesus, he interrupted her, "Jesus doesn't go to my school, he goes to my church!"
