WWTBAM Bored

I'm new to this board, but I know many members through Jeopardy (under this handle), Learned League, and TCONA. I'm scheduled to tape Who Wants to Be a Millionaire this Thursday August 18. My Plus One has a conflict and can't make it. Any locals or close by (California, Arizona, etc) available for that date? Please PM me for details.

Welcome aBored! Unfortunately, having already unexpectedly missed one day of work to fulfill this responsibility, I don't feel like I can cover another weekday taping.

I will say that it's a guaranteed way to spend a lot of quality time with the same APs who are making decisions (and I was very impressed by this year's bunch), so for those who feel like they've had trouble getting past the screening interview, this is a great opportunity. I'm not certain, but I think Spock was riffing on the phrase "friends with benefits." With that in mind, you may want to rethink your answer. --Bob

Ah, that makes sense. Plus One with benefits sounds like a sitcom episode that'd be either really awesome or really horrible.

7/19 Audition in Las Vegas. I was there for another purpose and had some time to kill. Before the test, I thought I had a reasonable chance of passing, but getting an on-camera interview (in a closet at Bally's) was a surprise. This was my first audition. I was going to audition 9 years ago in New York, but I caught an express train instead of a local and couldn't get off till I was well into the Bronx. By the time I made it to the studio, it was too late.
7/20 Receive email that I'm in the pool.
8/5 Get the call.
8/21 Taped.
