A Toronto native, Saunders joined ESPN in 1986 and had filled a variety of roles both there and with ABC. He had hosted "The Sports Reporters," a Sunday morning staple, since Dick Schaap's death in 1991, and ABC's college football coverage.

Oh, wow. Another great ESPN reporter gone way too soon... especially with Stuart Scott's death last year probably still fresh on everybody's mind.
