WWTBAM Bored

As I mentioned on Friday, starting today as we move into my Top 200 songs on the list, we drop down to two songs per day.


200. BREATHLESS-CAMEL (1978)
Album: Breathless

Woodwinds and shimmering guitars support a very pretty melody on this song by the pretty obscure English
progressive band. For me, this ong conjures up a beautiful summer day in the countryside, with nothing
particular on the agenda other than a spot under the shade of a tree, or perhaps a little boat ride on the lake.
Hey, betcha didn't know I was such a gushy romantic type. Kinda surprised myself there, too.




199. ALREADY GONE-THE EAGLES (1974)
Album: On The Border

Another one of those "turn it up" songs for me whenever it comes on in a vehicle. Pretty hard to resist singing
along with ("then you'll have to eat your lunch all by yourself"..love it).

I must admit I had not heard of Camel before. Very pretty song - very elegant. More than a hint of Alan Parsons.

They weren't on my personal radar very much, either, but a guy in our posse was really into them. I must have heard the Mirage album hundreds of times over the years. The other albums, not so much. Moonmadness is a really familiar title, so I will have to look into that, along with Breathless now.

I've never heard of Camel before, either. I do like the sound of the Breathless.

Pretty much everything by Eagles is golden, including this one.

Good call. Now that you mention it, it DOES sound a lot like Parsons.
