WWTBAM Bored

I just got back from my first-ever game at Citi, and my son's first-ever game in New York, where we got to watch my beloved Mets saunter to a 7-1 win over the Yankees. It really is a beautiful stadium. --Bob

I was awestruck by the rotunda quote from Jackie Robinson:

"A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives."

I went to a game there in 2009, the year it opened, while I was visiting NY to go to one of those tenth anniversary tapings of WWTBAM, and it seemed like the Mets fans were complaining about everything related to the new ballpark. One valid point that someone made was that sitting in the upper deck behind home plate one cannot see into the either corner (i.e., the warning track at the base of the foul pole).

I thought that overall the ballpark was very nice. There was a rain delay at the start of that game, and I walked all around the place.

Unfortunately, the Yankees were on the road during my short stay in New York, so I didn't get to go to a game at their new stadium. I did make a trip up to the Bronx and walk around it though, especially since in the early '90s, I worked at the Melrose Branch of the New York Public Library and would get off at the Yankee Stadium stop to go to work every day.

I'll bet it's a $&@*() dump just like $&@*() Shea Stadium. Are the $@#&* fans close enough to throw #@&*() urine on the visiting bullpen?

Might as well call it #$@&* Shitty Field...

I think I and others were laid-off in order to pay for the naming rights.

I am a Yankees fan, and Citi Field is much nicer than Yankee Stadium. I was at Citi Friday and Sunday.
