All three of today's entries come from the same decade..
212. STARMAN-DAVID BOWIE (1972)
Album: The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars
Spaced out but quite sweet at its center. One of his best melodies. The guitar line is simple
yet effective.
211. PROVE IT ALL NIGHT-BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN (1978)
Album: Darkness On The Edge Of Town
This song packs a powerful punch and is especially effective when Bruce quiets things down
to a whisper during the bridge before revving things back up. Not the first or the last time
he did that, but I like it.
210. SIBERIAN KHATRU-YES (1972)
Album: Close To The Edge
Crazy time signatures, propulsive main secion, and a hypnotic guitar riff
underneath some otherworldly harmonies..the stuff on display here is what
made them unique and why they remain one of the most blatant Rock Hall of Fame snubs.
