The band's second album, on which they perfected their reggae/rock hybrid sound. Hey, anything with "Message
In A Bottle" on it can't be that bad, can it?

It sounded like a lot of the Police songs from this era were two minutes of song in a three minute package. I lost count how many times Sting sings "I'll send an SOS" over the course of Message in a Bottle.
Catchy tunes, nonetheless.

I never could get into this group - I like their sound OK, and had a phase where I bought a LOT of ska (which they're mostly not quite there), but so many of their lyrics are negative to me (that one #1 hit when I was 16 was about stalking, the red light one was about a hooker ...).
I do acknowledge that they are a major contributor., and am glad they're here for those who like them.
