The next 3 tunes on the countdown:
224. DA DOO RON RON-THE CRYSTALS (1963)
Single
Phil Spector may be a jerk, to put it mildly, but he made some great records. This is one of them. It charges
right out of the gate and never lets up. A classic bridge between the 50's and 60's sounds.
223. HONKY TONK WOMEN-THE ROLLING STONES (1969)
Single
Need more cowbell? That's how this one opens, and Mick is at his struttin' best vocalizing here. Greasy guitars over
a slow cooking groove seal the deal. They got away with some pretty naughty lyrics for that day and age, too.
222. NEAL'S FANDANGO-THE DOOBIE BROTHERS (1975)
Album: Stampede
A concert staple of the band..every time I saw them (4 times total I think), in their various lineups, several
concert videos I saw, they always played this song. No wonder, as it's a blazing "barreling down the road" type
of tune perfect for firing up a crowd and showing off solo chops.
