2008 Audition List

It's interesting how almost all the green and blue lines come from the early-summer NYC auditions.. and how the road show was close to a universal bomb (and you really need to put Suitguy in an entirely different orbit, given his costumed audition).
I wonder if that's coincidence, or maybe different criteria, different AP's doing the interviewing, more relaxed attitude in NY may have played a factor.
My own aside, it's too bad that was close to a unanimous result on the road.

Oh but wouldn't I LOVE to know when they are taping Halloween week. I am living in fear that when they do call I will have an unreconcilable conflict, and there a no back up dates for Halloween. If I knew when they were taping I'd gladly keep that week open on just the chance that I will get the call.

I do have the consolation of knowing that if they don't call by the first of Oct, they never will and I can get out of the pool and dry off.

The data from this year indicate that it may pay to audition very early in the process.

Before June 10th (Shade's audition):
14 auditioners - all passed the test.
4 known Sad Cards
2 unknown results and presumed Sad Cards
8 Happy Cards
2 recipients of "The Call"

After June 10th:
27 auditioners
6 non-passers (1 retested with unknown results)
1 unknown pass/fail
5 recent road auditioners with no Card yet
13 Sad Cards
2 Happy Cards (1 for a specialty show/week)

From a 57% success rate (8/14) to 13% (2/15). There definitely seems to be a skew in the curve. Part of it, and maybe the biggest part, is that many of the early auditioners on the list are newbies here, while more of the later auditioners are long-time (relatively) BBs and probably serial auditioners. (I consider myself one of the latter, for all that I've only done three and never more than once in a year.)
