The Boney 500: Album #133

Let's all gather around the piano for today's album selection...
133. THE WAY IT IS-BRUCE HORNSBY AND THE RANGE (1986)
Hornsby's first, and still most successful, album to date. He hasn't had anywhere near the mainstream
attention since then, which is too bad because he's put out some great music over the past 30 years.
Which is not to downplay the quality of this record by any means. It added a touch of class to the Top 40
airwaves with tasty piano driven tunes like "Mandolin Rain", "Every Little Kiss" and of course, his
signature song, the title track. I'm also quite fond of the bouncy opener "On The Western Skyline" and
the swaying "Down The Road Tonight". His records always feature high quality musicianship and this
debut album established that right from the start.
