The Boney 500: Album #137

Laugh if you must, but sometimes I just have to drop in on my teenage headbanging self and say hi...
137. KISS-KISS (1974)
I first saw/heard these guys on the old "In Concert" show Friday nights, ABC, NOT to be
confused with "Don Kirschner's Rock Concert") and my 16 year-old mind was blown. Fire
breathing, blood spitting, Kabuki makeup, explosions...what was not to love? And ya know
what? Most of the songs on this debut album hold up remarkably well....I can't say the same for
a lot of what came after, although I still like some of those as well. But things here like
"Duece", "Firehouse" and "Strutter" remain fun, if kinda brainless, examples of simple hard rock
and still sound darn good to me.
