The Boney 500: Songs 320-318

Three more songs on the countdown today for your listening pleasure..well, MY
listening pleasure, for sure...we'll see how YOU feel about them
320. SLIP AWAY-THE BLISS BAND (1978)
Album: Dinner With Raoul
The sound is akin to the Doobies with Michael McDonald, or a MUCH much poppier Steely Dan.
Which makes sense, since McDonald, who was involved with both bands, contributes harmonies here.
319. THE LONGEST TIME-BILLY JOEL (1983)
Album: An Innocent Man
Doo Wop, 80's style. I can't ever resist singing along with the bass part.
318. IN MY LIFE-THE BEATLES (1965)
Album: Rubber Soul
Lyrically, The Beatles stepped up to a whole new level with this John Lennon
classic. It is both a look back with fondness on past faces and places, while
acknowledging that his current relationship tops them all. That solo that sounds like a
harpsichord is actually a piano, sped up, played by producer George Martin. If anyone
deserved to be called the "Fifth Beatle", it was Sir George.
