Besides the obvious problems with Baylor football of late, resulting in the termination or resignation of the head coach and AD,along with the demotion of University Presidenth Kenneth Starr, there comes the problem tha seven recruits who signed their Letters of Intent (think of it as a form of indentured servitude) want to be released from them so they can go to other schools. That isn't the easiest thing, because the school can be a real di[fficult organization] about such things.

It seems that the athletic department's incompetence extends to this area, at least in one case. Turns out the LOI is invalid bdcause the school didn't properly submit the paperwork.

No, a completely different Ken Starr. This Ken Starr was responsible for protecting the university. The other was responsible for prosecuting the President. You see, he's a lawyer. They CAN have it both ways depending on which side their on. "It just their job.", or so they say.

Yes this is me posting a link to NPR. It's not directly related to the Baylor, but it is germane to the campus sexual assault issue.

That incredibly broad, possibly sexist generalization actually rang true for writer Sarah Hepola during her drinking days, when she considered alcohol the fuel of all adventure. Many of those adventures ended with her in bed with a man she didn't know, not sure of how she got there. Her memoir, "Blackout: Remembering The Things I Drank To Forget," comes out next week in paperback. It's the story of how drinking fit in with and distorted her idea of being an empowered woman. Terry spoke with Sarah Hepola last July when her book was first published. She had just marked her fifth year of being sober. A warning for parents of young children - during the interview, Hepola will talk about the impact of drinking on her sex life and self image. But there is nothing explicit in the conversation.

I consider "university" to include its students, faculty, buildings, name, mascot, and regents. Also reputation.

You would think Mr. Starr would be a bit more savvy when dealing with the media.
