Today's entry is not exactly an obscurity....
147. LAYLA AND OTHER ASSORTED LOVE SONGS-DEREK AND THE DOMINOES (1970)
A double album and the only studio LP released by the group, consisting of Eric Clapton and former
members of Delaney and Bonnie and Friends. Duane Allman also played on 11 of the 14 tracks.
Yes, it has classic rock staples like the title track and "Bell Bottom Blues", but MY
go-to track is "Have You Ever Loved A Woman", which has absolutely blistering guitar work by
Clapton..probably my favorite of his six-string performances. They did release a live album later
on, but a second studio album was shelved during recording sessions.
