And so it begins.

As I mentioned yesterday, for the first 8 weeks I'll post 3 songs and one album per day, Monday through Friday. I thought posting all 350 songs and 150 albums at once might be a tad overwhelming, and besides, this method allows me to wring every last bit of faux drama out of this that I can

We will kick off this countdown with album #150...

150. JOHN BARLEYCORN MUST DIE-TRAFFIC (1970)

This would have ranked higher if I like Side 2 as much as I like
Side 1. But I REALLY like Side 1, which contains 3 excellent Jazz/R & B
flavored compositions: "Glad", "Freedom Rider", and "Empty Pages". On the
strength of those 3 tracks this album grabbed the last slot on this
countdown over The Jayhawks' "Rainy Day Music", Don McLean's "American Pie",
The Rolling Stones' "Let It Bleed", The Doobie Brothers' "Stampede", and
Deep Purple's "Fireball".

Good album. The title track is such an uplifting song!
They've wheeled him around and around a field 'til they came onto a pond
And there they made a solemn oath on poor John Barleycorn
They've hired men with their crabtree sticks to cut him skin from bone
And the miller he has served him worse than that
For he's ground him between two stones
