She actually died on December 31 of last year.

She actually died on December 31 of last year.
Hubby Charles Kimbrough (of Murphy Brown fame) chose not to tell the media until this week.

Had you reached the second line of the linked article, you'd know it wasn't his choice.
He had refrained from announcing her death earlier in keeping with her wishes.

Howland married Kimbrough in 2002. Her first husband, back in the 1960's, was Michael J. Pollard. It's hard to think of two more disparate individuals than Pollard and Kimbrough.
