New Ballpark for the Rangers

I still think of the Rangers current Ballpark in Arlington (I refuse to call it Globe Life Park) as their "new ballpark" and still get nostalgic about the old Arlington Stadium. But the Ballpark was built in 1994, just before the technology for good retractable roofs began to take shape. And it gets really hot here in July and August. So, the Rangers have announced plans to build a new air conditioned retractable roof ballpark to open in April 2021.

I have mixed feelings about it. I've grown fond of the Ballpark. I've seen the Rangers win two pennants there, and I've gone to a World Series game there. I've also seen a player hit for the cycle (while also collecting six hits in a nine inning game). I attended the last game at Arlington Stadium and the first game at the Ballpark in Arlington (in 1993-1994). The libertarian in me hates that the Rangers are having the city of Arlington's taxpayers foot half of the bill for the new park.

Here are the first artist renderings. It appears that I will have to find a new place to park for the final four years of games at The Ballpark in Arlington since the new park will be going up on the lot where I like to park now.
