Just announced it on their Instagram account. (Which probably means they moved the production office to LA; hence the auditions there.)

They posted it on FB too, and at MillionaireTV.com.
The long-running, popular game show “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” is moving its production to the bright lights of Las Vegas, Nevada, beginning with the upcoming 2016-2017 season. Hosted by Chris Harrison, “Millionaire” will tape its shows at Bally’s Las Vegas in front of a live studio audience. Entering its 15th season in national syndication, “Millionaire” will premiere on Monday, September 12, 2016.

ATA's gonna give some goofed-up results. Not that it doesn't already, sometimes.

Not to mention that should they ever let me on, none of my possible +1s among people I actually know would be able/willing to make the trip.

They were pretty dire in their "so how well do you know your +1? You've got someone available, right?" language on the application when they were recording in *Stamford, CT*, for pity's sake.

at least Nevada doesn't have an income tax!

The US govt does.

All the new location means re payoffs is that thousandaires will get to keep a little more of their money. And the staggered checks for really big payoffs, if any, will not be mailed from Nevada, I don't think.

To me this sucks big time. I suspect people further away from Stamford won't give a hoot. Most +1s these days are loved ones, but not necessarily the sharpest knife in the drawer re trivia, anyway.

BuzzerBlog is predicting an improvement in the accuracy of ATA with the move to Vegas.

That said, NYC was considered a fairly accurate locale for ATA, but admit it, we're all still smarting from that Titanic question five years ago.

And there's the recently retired Chris Tennant saying 81% was a record. :?
I don't think even a Russian audience was 98% wrong, not even 'deliberately'.

What part of this article paragraph predicts an "improvement in accuracy"? He predicts it will be "interesting," which could include a bunch of stupid rowdy drunks who don't really care where they are but decided to see a free show, many of whom might be from other countries. None of that suggests that ATA accuracy will improve.
Millionaire’s moves have been interestingly documented by the accuracy of the Ask the Audience. The move from New York City to their current home in Stamford, CT manifested itself in a seeming dip in accuracy with the Ask the Audience lifeline. The move to Las Vegas will prove interesting in that regard.

Depending where you live, you likely would've seen a tax increase in prize money if it was in California. At least being in Nevada, you're only paying the rate of your home state.I live in IL, so I'd rather pay 3.75% compared to the likely 7% or more in CA.

Maybe they'll still be taping during TCONA.

Friday's show (I think it was Friday's) invited people to audition in Vegas. If reg auditions are only held in Vegas, not LA, they'll never get their desired young-puppy contestants.

Also, why did all those people involved w/ show move to LA, not Vegas, if all show stuff is now located to Vegas?

Oh good. The entire group of attendees at TCONA should show up.

Dates and times have been posted. They added July 15 at 4:00, but that could be a dress rehearsal. For the rest of July, they tape Monday through Friday at 11:45 & 4:00. In August, it's Wednesday through Sunday with some exceptions.
