Millionaire is Moving to Vegas

Just announced it on their Instagram account. (Which probably means they moved the production office to LA; hence the auditions there.)
The long-running, popular game show “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” is moving its production to the bright lights of Las Vegas, Nevada, beginning with the upcoming 2016-2017 season. Hosted by Chris Harrison, “Millionaire” will tape its shows at Bally’s Las Vegas in front of a live studio audience. Entering its 15th season in national syndication, “Millionaire” will premiere on Monday, September 12, 2016.
BuzzerBlog is predicting an improvement in the accuracy of ATA with the move to Vegas.ghostjmf wrote:ATA's gonna give some goofed-up results. Not that it doesn't already, sometimes.
What part of this article paragraph predicts an "improvement in accuracy"? He predicts it will be "interesting," which could include a bunch of stupid rowdy drunks who don't really care where they are but decided to see a free show, many of whom might be from other countries. None of that suggests that ATA accuracy will improve.Brit Canuck wrote: BuzzerBlog is predicting an improvement in the accuracy of ATA with the move to Vegas.

Millionaire’s moves have been interestingly documented by the accuracy of the Ask the Audience. The move from New York City to their current home in Stamford, CT manifested itself in a seeming dip in accuracy with the Ask the Audience lifeline. The move to Las Vegas will prove interesting in that regard.
Depending where you live, you likely would've seen a tax increase in prize money if it was in California. At least being in Nevada, you're only paying the rate of your home state.I live in IL, so I'd rather pay 3.75% compared to the likely 7% or more in CA.ghostjmf wrote:The US govt does.
All the new location means re payoffs is that thousandaires will get to keep a little more of their money. And the staggered checks for really big payoffs, if any, will not be mailed from Nevada, I don't think.
To me this sucks big time. I suspect people further away from Stamford won't give a hoot. Most +1s these days are loved ones, but not necessarily the sharpest knife in the drawer re trivia, anyway.
Maybe they'll still be taping during TCONA.TheConfessor wrote:What part of this article paragraph predicts an "improvement in accuracy"? Oh good. The entire group of attendees at TCONA should show up.jarnon wrote:Taping dates are July 18 to Sept. 1. Details at http://on-camera-audiences.com/shows/Wh ... illionaire#.
Dates and times have been posted. They added July 15 at 4:00, but that could be a dress rehearsal. For the rest of July, they tape Monday through Friday at 11:45 & 4:00. In August, it's Wednesday through Sunday with some exceptions.jarnon wrote:Taping dates are July 18 to Sept. 1. Details at http://on-camera-audiences.com/shows/Wh ... illionaire#.
