I found it to be a very UN satisfying end as well.

I was surprised as I had her picked last of the three but disagree with the coat-tail moniker. While she got along with almost everyone on a personal level, she remained on the outs come voting time and was often targeted. She had frequent scrambling to maneuver things so that by the time they got to tribal, her name was less likely to be written down. In the end, not being a major player in any alliance and decent social skills is what won it for her.
I liked the jury ousting vote at the end - mostly because I didn't see it coming. I had been predicting a final two for several weeks and believed that right up until Jeff sprung the twist.
Again, Survivor pulls off a good season. Not the best compared to other recent versions, but still interesting and entertaining. I don't like the Super-Idol idea though and really can't see it coming into play (except as a threat) unless both halves are held by the same person.
I can only imagine the relief of all the contestants as it's been what - a year and a few months? since the taping of the final tribal council. Aubrey was one of the best final tribal speakers ever and I felt that her final tribal words and answers would lock in the win for her.

A blogger says the vote breakdown was 5/2 w/o giving their source. Makes it even icky-er. I'll grant that Michele was more of an also-ran, until she won, that is, rather than anybody's dedicated follower. I can't remember why Tai wanted her off so badly that he wasted his extra vote just trying, other than that they never got along until their truce near the end, but he had a good instinct in trying to get her out.
The blogger thinks Scott & Josh, the alpha-jocks, voted for her prom queen aspects, & blogger is probably right. They weren't asked in final show. What happened to voting for best player, rather than person you like most or think is cute?

The 5/2 vote split is confirmed by the shown final vote tally: Survivor would have shown all votes for the non-winner(s). Since Aubry had 2 once Michelle got 4 it was a lock - although that last vote had to be for Michelle too.
We know that Joe voted for Aubry. I'm guessing that the other was Debbie - but that's just a guess. I figure that Scott and Jason would vote the same no matter what. They wouldn't vote for Aubry as she was always in the "other alliance" while they were playing. I thought that they both may vote for Tai - forgiving him for ousting Scott by considering it good game play (as Tai kept trying to promote during the final council) but from their expressions during the final it didn't look like they had forgiven him. That leaves Michelle as the only possible choice.
Michelle was a perceived threat throughout the game due to her social skills. She blended fairly well with all, and always seemed to be at or near the bottom of any alliance. That put her in the position of often having her name tossed around to be voted off - a dangerous place to be. As the game neared the end, Michelle would have been targeted even more as she was rightly seen to not have any big enemies on the jury. Had Joe not been removed due to injury at the final 5 or if Michelle not won immunity at the final 4 I would expect that Michelle would have been voted off then.
I think it's interesting that both Scott and Jason could hold the grudge against Tai for not playing the Super idol yet both planned to take Tai out soon after those idols were played. Sometimes Survivor contestants can rise above the pettiness and rationalize that in the end, this always ends as an individual game. Not in this case.
