Family Guy is RI and no idea on Newhart
Thought The Office was east coast, but no idea where Family Ties was.

So if I had 50:50, I would've known based on the fact I could eliminate Home Improvement/Parks and Rec

OK, like Bob I haven't watched any episodes of "South Park", "Breaking Bad" or "Parks & Recreation", so I have to go on what I know from general discussions. "Breaking Bad" is in New Mexico, "Home Improvement" is in Michigan and "Family Ties" is in Ohio. So far no help. "Family Guy" is in Rhode Island and "Newhart" is in Vermont. Those two states aren't adjacent so I go with that answer even without being sure of the locations of the others.
