Fox Announces Six New Series

#1 Post by silverscreenselect » Wed May 11, 2016 9:58 am

Fox Network is the first to announce new series for the fall. And a couple of them will sound very familiar:

Lethal Weapon: TV version of the Mel Gibson/Danny Glover movies, with Clayne Crawford and Damon Wayans, Sr. in the lead roles.

The Exorcist: Two priests spend all season trying to perform an exorcism. Geena Davis is the most recognizable name in the cast, presumably not playing either priest.

A.P.B.: A billionaire high tech mogul (Justin Kirk) privatizes the police force in the most crime ridden precinct in Chicago and tries to modernize it using "cutting edge technology and revolutionary new ideas." If his ideas include a new version of the ED209, I'm all in.

Pitch: A female pitcher (Kylie Bunbury) is called up by the San Diego Padres.

Those were dramas. There's also two new comedies:

Making History: A time travel comedy involving people from two different centuries. They tried this 50 years ago, and it was called It's About Time. It lasted one season.

The Mick: A street hustler con artist (Kaitlin Olson) assumes custody of her filthy rich sister's three spoiled children.

Earlier Fox picked up four other series for next season, including 24: Legacy, essentially a reboot of 24 with a new lead character (Corey Hawkins) and no Chloe either; Star from Lee Daniels, about the music industry but not an Empire spinoff, starring Queen Latifah and Benjamin Bratt; and a followup limited series version of Prison Break with Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller.

No word on dates for any of these, but since Fox won't have American Idol next season, they'll likely hold some of these over until after New Years.

It is comical, though.

I still remember the theme song to that show. I liked the show. But at the time I didn't even get an allowance so my demographic didn't matter.
..what country can preserve it’s liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? let them take arms.

War is where the government tells you who the bad guy is.
Revolution is when you decide that for yourself.
