20K: About the only thing I retain from spending a whole year long ago studying almanacs preparing to be on BAM (hah!) is that England, after taking Manhattan by threatening the Dutch with their superior Navy (as a sarcastic person I know pointed out, "its an island") "made it legal" by giving the Dutch part of their South American colony Guiana. So for a while there was British Guina & Dutch Guina. Dutch Guiana became Suriname.
